Harvest Notes
The Marlborough growing season started off well with very little frost pressure during spring. Flowering went without a glitch, due healthy soil moisture levels the canopies looked lush and vibrant. The start of 2022 summer was slightly colder; February was below the long-term average in temperature however the weather settled with a slightly damp autumn.
Viticulture
Our Riesling vineyards are from diverse areas within Marlborough, from the upper Waihopai Valley clays soils, to the river terraces in mid-Wairau valley as well as river terraces in the cooler Awatere Valley, this provides us with bright citrus lemon & lime flavours with zippy acidity, this wine can be enjoyed whilst youthful or with several years of bottle aging to develop softer honeyed notes.
Vinification
Cool ferment in stainless steel to preserve the fresh fruit characters and zippy acidity.
